The School of Arts, Languages and Literatures (SALL)
Learning and Teaching in the School of Arts, Literatures and Languages

SALL is one of the biggest and most complex teaching schools in the University. Our three departments cover eight (or more) subject disciplines, on three sites, in two counties. We have approximately 2000 students on taught programmes, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and some 120 staff teaching them.

These pages are designed as a home for strategy and policy documents, discussion papers, statements of procedures, and committee minutes and papers. They are intended primarily as a resource for members of School staff. If you are looking for information about the School's taught programmes, then you should return to the home page, and follow the links to the relevant department.

Learning and teaching in the School is overseen by the Director of Education. That role is currently held by Prof Andrew McRae. Discussions of learning and teaching matters take place at the School's Education Committee, whose minutes and papers will be found on these pages. Mrs Jill Collins, Academic and Student Services Manager for the School of Arts, Languages and Literatures is Secretary to the Committee and should be contacted in the first instance for any enquiries related to these web pages.
