We offer excellent teaching supported by international quality research, and our students enjoy high levels of employment success. The Times Good University Guide 2010, the 2008 Independent Good University Guide, and 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) place us in the national top 10. In the RAE 95% of our research was rated of international quality (55% ‘internationally excellent’ and 5% ‘world-leading’).

	Undergraduate study Our BA programme is suitable for both beginners or those who have already studied Russian to A-level or equivalent, and provides a good knowledge base of Russian studies with opportunities to specialise. Improve your language skills and add to your CV by studying or working in Russia.
	Postgraduate study Our flexible MA in Translation and exciting range of interdisciplinary masters programmes offer a wide degree of student choice. Our teaching is informed by our cutting edge research and we offer MPhil/PhD supervision across a wide range of research interests.
	Research The research interests of our academic staff include World War Two and post-glasnost literature, women's writing, poetry, critical theory, cinema and art history and criticism relating to the 19th century.
