STUDENT STUDY TIME Since this is a "hands-on" course, we can only
approximate the time at about 100+ hours. |
AIMSTo teach students how to produce a video of five to eight
minutes' duration that is either a documentary, a fiction film, or an essay on a
film director or national cinema.
INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMESStudents will learn to create scripts, story
boards, acquire basic video-making skills [camera work, editing]. They will also
maintain a log-book that will record the process of producing the video.
LEARNING/TEACHING METHODSStudents will be given basic training in
camera and editing work. They will also be taught how to draw up a script and a
story board.

SYLLABUS PLAN This module is a very intensive course [5 hours per week
of class time]. The first three weeks will be given over to basic training and
the following three to preparing scripts, story boards and shooting. Editing and
sound will take place over the last four weeks.
