Candidates interested in PhD study in the field of Sexuality and Gender Studies will find that CISSGE provides a lively, committed, and friendly intellectual community. The Centre aims to ensure that its research students are provided with the stimulus and guidance necessary to the on-time completion of a scholarly and substantive thesis, and that they develop skills and acquire experience which will serve them in their future careers.

Caroline Walters, "A Non-Pathologising Approach to Contemporary Literary and Cinematic Representations of Heterosexual Female Masochism and Submission" (full-time student, PhD in Sexuality and Gender Studies from 2008)

Michelle Parslow, PhD in English Literature and Gender Theory, (AHRC-funded, supervised within English and CISSGE)

Roger Pitt, "The Missing Child or ‘Bambino Negato’ in Contemporary Italian Film" (AHRC-funded, supervised within Italian & Film and CISSGE)
